Kindle 4th Generation

We still do not know for sure just when the 4th generation Kindle will be on sale. But the good news is that it not too hard to take a guess.

The fact of the matter is that we have seen three generations of the Kindle in as many years. Therefore it is very likely that the Kindle 4 release date will be some time in 2011.

That said, there is a possibility that it will not come out until the start of 2012. We shall just have to wait and see what plans Amazon have.

It will be exciting to find out what features the next version of the Kindle will feature. In this article we shall take a look at some of the possible options.

The fact of the matter is that the Kindle 3 is an amazing hand held device. The clarity of the screen and speed of page turns make it an excellent electronic book reader. Therefore, since it is proving to be so popular, there really is no reason for Amazon to rush to bring the Kindle 4 to market.

Apparently 1 in 10 people in the U.S. owns an eBook. This is an amazing statistic. Since Amazon has such a large market share, bringing new technology to the market is good in many respects but turning the Kindle 3 into a legacy device so soon may alienate some of their customers.

The questions that are being asked revolve around the features that may be included in the next electronic book reader from Amazon. Will it be a color Kindle? Or perhaps we will be treated to a touch screen Kindle. At the moment we simply do not know.

While a Kindle color screen is pretty cool, I am not too sure how much practical value it would give me. Yes, it would look nice but I cannot remember reading a color novel before.

A Kindle with a touch screen on the other hand does have significant practical value as far as I am concerned. For a start, it means that the keyboard would become un-necessary. This means that it would be possible to increase the screen size without increasing the overall size of the device. Or potentially the Kindle could be made even smaller and lighter.

There is a huge question mark over the price that will be charged for the next Kindle. This is much harder to predict. It depends on so many different factors including the release date as well as its features.
